Rhubarb Has A Cold – The Foodies Veggie Patch Rhubarb Story for April

£2.99

In our rhubarb story from the April vegetable patch, Rhubarb really wants to go out with his friends but is really poorly and needs to learn to take care of himself.
The Foodies bring you vegetable patch stories for every month of the year, and all the characters, scenery and weather are in season that month.
April’s story features rhubarb, which is not only in the shops but also abundant everywhere in veggie patches and allotments in the UK. Children can enjoy Rhubarb’s fun adventure and then learn all about how rhubarb grows, go and find some in the shops (or pick some from the garden!) and cook a lovely rhubarb recipe from the back of the book.
This story is all about having a cold and taking care of yourself and the free downloads build on that theme.

April Book of the Month.  Rhubarb is feeling so poorly! The Foodies Books bring you stories from the veggie patch for each month of the year, and all the characters, scenery and weather are in season that month.

It was a damp and drizzly April day in the garden. Rhubarb was very excited – he and his friends were going to see some daffodils…

In this story, Rhubarb feels really poorly but is not happy about resting because he was looking forward to a fun day with his friends, he feels like he’s the only one missing out. The more he tries to say he’s better, the poorlier he gets.

The story lends itself to discussions of illness and wellness, and how to make ourselves feel better.  Our free downloadable activities explore the theme of illness and wellness in more depth, with games about washing our hands to reduce the spread of germs, treating symptoms of  minor illness, and how to keep ourselves generally healthy.
