In this story, Pumpkin is the only pumpkin in the garden and wants to make some friends. He tries to join in with other people but they all have skills that he can’t do and he feels like he will never fit in.

The story lends itself to discussions of what the fact that everyone is a unique mix of skills and abilities.  Our free downloadable activities explore the theme of skills and abilities in more depth, with a games of silly skills Olympics, animal skills bingo and an activity for children to build confidence by making a Strongbox.

    A fantastic book much enjoyed by my 3 kids. They all felt sorry for pumpkin and were happy when he found his special talent. Well written story with a lovely underlying moral & appealing illustrations for little ones. Loved it.
